Since 1995 Suescum's work is inspired by vernacular signage on the walls of shops (tiendas) such as beauty parlors, hardware stores, butcher shops, restaurants and auto repair shops as seen in Latin America and its diaspora. In her work, Suescum recombines their colors, unusual perspective and shifts in scale.
